Are you interested in a varied and challenging analytical role contributing to making Cambridgeshire a safer place? Are you able to understand the bigger picture and distil wide ranging data and information to inform senior decision makers? Do you want to broaden your experience within the criminal justice system, policing or community safety context?  Are you a self-starter who can use your initiative in delivering your own work and supporting others? If so, then we need you.

A vacancy has arisen for a new post in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to provide proactive analytical support to interpret a wide range of policing and criminal justice data. This will support the Commissioner’s statutory responsibilities for holding the Chief Constable to account, ensuring an effective and efficient criminal justice system, supporting delivery of the Police and Crime Plan and engaging with the public.

The role will be varied. You will be analysing performance reporting from Cambridgeshire Constabulary, tracking patterns, trends and themes to support the Commissioner in holding the Constabulary to account, as well as looking more broadly at criminal justice system performance. You will also be collating data, evidence and information from multiple sources to prepare information on wide-ranging topics to inform senior decision making.

You will need to be comfortable balancing competing priorities, against a backdrop of complex change. You will need to be able to translate detailed information against big picture context and local policy positions. You also need to work professionally and effectively with local stakeholders.

You will be part of a small but supportive team. The team is currently working agilely but will eventually be back at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner based in Police Headquarters in Huntingdon for some of the week. You must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere to meet business need, once circumstances allow.

The role is full time (37 hours) but flexible working arrangements will be considered.
