Would you like to be at the forefront of digital learning innovation within policing?

If so, a rare and meaningful opportunity has become available, for a Digital Developer on our Digital Learning & Force Systems training team, for someone to help shape our delivery.

Operational Learning provides professional expertise, support and appropriate learning solutions to meet the learning needs and priorities across the three forces. As a Digital Developer, you will be pivotal to the success of the agreed Digital Learning Strategy and as part of the wider Beds/Herts/Cambs HR Department, you’ll enjoy the ongoing support of an established and knowledgeable team to achieve this.

Responsible for designing and developing a range of effective virtual learning materials and programmes, you’ll be supporting colleagues and forces in making existing programmes more blended and accessible in their approach and content.

We are often required to create, update and develop learning content, so it is important that you are comfortable with change and are able to provide innovative solutions to the ongoing digital learning requirements of the three forces.  You will need to convey the range of digital/blended learning concepts available in an engaging manner, so using your excellent communication and influencing skills will be essential.

We want to be transparent regarding the recruitment process and will keep you informed on progress throughout your application.  If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be expected to evidence the personal qualities and entry requirements outlined in the role profile and deliver a short micro digital learning package (approximately 3 minutes) – don’t worry, you’ll be given more information on the topic at the time interviews are confirmed.

BCH Learning & Development services are a collaborated unit, which means as well as some home-based working, you’ll have a great opportunity to regularly meet colleagues onsite at our Monks Wood training site in Cambridgeshire, as well as our training sites, which include Dunstable, Stevenage and Letchworth.

The full role profile is attached and further information on the post can be obtained from 7979 Bev Bates (Beverley.bates@herts.police.uk) 07736 481068.

For the purposes of the application, you will be expected to provide evidence against entry requirements as stipulated in role profile.

Please note, if you are shortlisted for interview, you will be expected to evidence against all personal qualities and the entry requirements stipulated in the role profile.

All applications must be received by the closing date.

All internal staff from Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Constabulary (including Agency Workers but excluding Specials and Volunteers) are eligible to apply for this post.

All internal applicants must have successfully completed their probationary period in order to apply for this role.

Internal applicants should upload a CV or completed ‘Staff internal role summary’ form, which can be found in the vacancy documents below. Please note you will be required to provide evidence against the entry requirements as stipulated in attached role profile. See attached role profile for more details.
