Applications are invited for a Researcher to join Joint Protective Services (JPS) supporting performance reporting for Crime and Specialist Operations. The post holder will work as part of a team within the JPS Business Area, reporting to the Senior Analyst.

This is a nine-month secondment opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career, enhance their current skills and work within a fast paced and evolving area of business. The successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel across the tri-force but the permanent base location can be either Bedfordshire Police Headquarters or Cambridgeshire Police Headquarters which is where the majority of the business area and command team are based.

The post holder will be required to undertake a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to);

• Provide research capability to assist JPS Governance.
• Monitor data quality and provide feedback where required.
• Collect and collate information regarding specific areas of performance.
• Research and compile management information as required.
• Liaise with partners in order to exchange relevant information.

As such the successful candidate will have the desired qualities;

• Previous experience in a research environment.
• Proven experience of assimilating and understanding relevant information, to include the identification of potential risks and patterns.
• Good working knowledge of computer software including experience of data management and input working with customised databases and computer packages including excel.
• Ability to work unsupervised, using own initiative and to deadlines.
• Ability to research and draw conclusions from the information gathered.
• Experience in report writing, with the ability to express complex data.
