A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Forensic Collision Investigation Unit and reporting to SSU, which is part of Joint Protective Services (JPS).

The candidate will have to enable organisational compliance with the Home Office Forensic Science Regulators Statement of Requirements. Working within the BCH Scientific Services Department the role holder will supervise the development and implementation of technical SOPs to UKAS 17025 and 17020 standards across forensic collision investigation; and on-going compliance. To contribute to achieving the vision, purpose and values of Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Constabularies.

To assume line management responsibility for practitioner and dedicated supervisor roles within the Forensic Collision Investigation teams, and introduce and coordinate a single way of working across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Forensic Collision Investigation Teams, as defined within the SSU quality management system Standard Operating Procedures and the agreed technical FCIU procedures
