From murders to child sexual exploitation campaigns no two days are ever the same working in Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Corporate Communications team. You will gain a fascinating insight into the varied and complex world of policing and play a vital role in protecting the vulnerable and attacking criminality.

This role would suit a communications specialist seeking a challenging and varied role which incorporates media relations, campaign planning and internal communications.

Those interested in the role will require:
• Good, clear copy writing, with a flexible, adaptive style and strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of media law.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Two years communications experience.
• Degree, preferably communications related or equivalent professional qualification.
• A good level of verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences.

The role is based at Police HQ in Huntingdon but you may be required to travel within the county.

For the purposes of the application you will be expected to provide evidence against the 12 entry requirements:

• Degree, preferably communications related or equivalent professional qualification
• Two years communications experience
• Understanding of media law
• Understanding of crisis management
• Good, clear copy writing, with a flexible, adaptive style and strong attention to detail
• A good level of verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external customers
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience of delivering projects including planning, monitoring and evaluation based upon changing priorities
• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the delivery of internal and external communications through a variety of channels
• Experience of managing budgets
• Working knowledge of InDesign and other design software
• Understanding of audience segmentation and the ability to adapt internal and external communication plans to meet the communication needs of the audience
