An exciting Part Time 30 hr 2 year Fixed-Term opportunity has arisen within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire’s Scientific Support unit.

The collaborated Forensic Chemical Laboratory delivers 17025 accredited fingerprint development and enhancement services to Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Police. Our trained technicians examine a wide variety of exhibits retrieved from crime scenes with the aim of recovering finger-marks through a number of specialist chemical treatment/processes, ensuring the continuity of evidence and producing detailed reports and statements on findings.

The post is based at WGC Police HQ, and the successful post holder will be part of a team of 13 staff who focus on quality and service delivery in support of policing priorities. We would like to hear from all self-motivated individuals who have good communication skills, a very strong eye for detail, and the resilience to keep trying even when faced with challenging and complex situations.

The successful applicant will have a good standard of written and verbal communication for correspondence and reports and be able to speak to people face to face and over the telephone. They will require a good working knowledge of word processing and spread sheet packages, with the ability to input and retrieve data accurately.
