If you are looking for a new job where you can use your organisational skills to help change people’s lives, then look no further!

A vacancy has arisen for an Office Manager in the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office to help deliver the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan.

If you are energetic and dedicated to delivering a comprehensive, efficient and effective service across all areas of business, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate, with the necessary skills and experience, to ensure the team are supported and organised and have everything they need to run an efficient office within an agile working environment.

Every day is different in this role, so if you are looking for variety then this could be for you.

There are a few great reasons to apply, a few of which are:

  • You get to work with a small and friendly team to improve community safety, support victims of crime and help prevent people from re-offending
  • You can work flexibly – spending some of your working week at home and some in the office (dependent on business needs)
  • You can join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • And last but not least, you get access to a Blue Light Card offering good discounts at major high street stalls.

Job details:

Police and Crime Commissioners are elected to represent local people and ensure an effective and efficient police service. In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Darryl Preston is responsible for setting police and crime objectives, the police budget and for holding the Chief Constable to account.

Your focus will be on managing the business support function within the office, ensuring effective links with the work of the rest of the team and identifying possible solutions to issues.

You need to have willingness to line manage and work collaboratively with people of all seniority in the team, and the ability to provide support and resilience to others. You will also help ensure statutory and governance requirements and processes are adhered to on behalf of the Commissioner.

You will be part of a small, but supportive team, who are splitting their time between home and the office, which is in Police Headquarters in Hinchingbrooke, Huntingdon.  You must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere, for meetings to meet business need.

The role is preferably full time (37 hours) but flexible working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

For the purposes of the application, you will be expected to provide 500 words evidence against the minimum entry requirements.
