Working in a small but busy department based at Police HQ Kempston who are responsible for the Estates and Facilities force wide. We are looking to recruit the right candidate to fulfil the role of a Business Support Assistant for Bedfordshire. This is a new position and the responsibilities within it will evolve over time. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide; assistance to the Compliance Officer, the Health and Safety Model and to ensure that the Estate is fully compliant to all its obligations. As part of this role you will be supporting others including key Health and Safety personnel at various sites. The position involves visiting sites across the force to assist with inspections, document findings and updating forms. A close attention to detail is essential as well as an ability to navigate documentation and various form filling. As part of the role you will be required to produce a number of reports on a variety of different subjects. 

Ideally you will have some experience in Health and Safety although this is not essential as training will be provided. You will have good IT skills and be willing to learn various ICT, internal and external/Microsoft Office Applications. 

You will be required to travel across Bedfordshire and work from different locations and sites. Estates and Facilities Team are responsible for all accommodations across the force. As part of a small department there will be opportunities to conduct multiple roles. You will be making a big impact. The hours are flexible, based on 37 hours week. We operate flexitime, mainly between the hours of 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday but you may, on occasion, be asked to work outside these hours and days.
