Financial Investigator - ERSOU – Financial Investigation Team

1 x full time vacancy based in Hertfordshire – Projected vacancies based in Hertfordshire & Suffolk

The Financial Investigation Team (FIT) is a collaboration of Financial Investigation and Asset recovery capabilities of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk Police Forces. The team is responsible for conducting Financial Investigation and all Asset recovery Investigations across the five Force areas.

ERSOU celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected. We actively encourage applications from underrepresented or minority groups. ERSOU is a Disability Confident employer. Should you require any reasonable adjustments for your application process, please contact the HR Service Centre on 01438 757777.We also offer the guaranteed interview scheme; this means that all candidates with a disability covered by the Equality Act 2010, who meet the minimum entry requirements for the role, will be invited to attend an interview. Where possible we will also consider flexible working requests.

This is an exciting opportunity for confident and articulate individuals to join a team of established Financial Investigators engaged in the identification and delivery of effective asset recovery solutions against those involved in acquisitive crime throughout the ERSOU five force region. Financial investigation and the tools provided by Asset Recovery legislation provide an effective means to reduce acquisitive crime; by recovering the proceeds and where possible compensating victims. Investigators disrupt a criminal’s ability to fund further crime and remove their incentive by creating a continued deterrent.

Applications would be particularly welcome from those who already hold NCA Financial Investigation accreditations under Part 2 and 5 of POCA or accredited FIO’s (Part 8 qualified) seeking career progression.

As an NCA accredited Financial Investigator you will conduct complex financial, civil recovery and confiscation investigations. You will be highly motivated person with excellent interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will possess strong report writing and IT skills (in particular Excel), be inquisitive, decisive, have the ability to work alone and in a team, show initiative and independence, have problem-solving skills and be tactful and polite. Personal integrity is ideal, as well as being able to work accurately and pay close attention to detail. You will be expected to support a number of investigations and attend court where engagement with defendants and legal representatives is also required to assist lead agencies to ensure effective hearings take place.

There is a full-time position available within our team based in Hertfordshire and projected vacancies in both Hertfordshire and Suffolk. Those successful will remain upon a selection list pending any vacancies that they have indicated an interest in, for a period of 12 months.

Within your application, please give a preference of location, either Hertfordshire or Suffolk. If you wish to be considered for both locations, then multiple applications do not need to be made.
