Police Constable, ERSOU – Regional Disruption Team – X1 full time vacancy based at Hertfordshire.

The Regional Organised Crime Unit works to tackle serious and organised crime impacting on the East of England, the Regional Disruption Team is an integral part of that.

This an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated and dynamic team, consisting of a Detective Sergeant and five PC/DC/Police staff posts, whose focus is to relentlessly disrupt organised crime in the Eastern Region by working collaboratively with Partner Agencies utilising a wide range of tactics, legislation and powers from across Law enforcement and partners. The post holder will be required to work from different locations other than their home stations, this is a permanent post working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday although you may be required to work shifts and frequently work additional hours, often at short notice. 

The role of Constable on the Regional Disruption Team offers challenging, rewarding and varied work, working closely with the other capabilities within the ROCU, constituent Forces and other law enforcement partners, the successful candidate will seek, plan and undertake disruption responses that pursue, prevent, prepare and protect against threats posed by OCG’s and SOC offenders. They will also be required to develop effective working relationships with other departments, partners and statutory bodies in order to maximise opportunities for intelligence development in ensuring that organised criminality is disrupted. Please note that DC’s are also welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will need to evidence proven ability within an intelligence or investigative environment, the ability to operate a number of computerised databases and a good working knowledge and understanding of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the following competencies and the minimum entry requirements from the role profile:

As this is a PDF document this will need to be wet signed. We will accept an audit trail of emails from your line manager and Head of Department if a wet signature is not achievable.
