***Bedfordshire Police are seeking to recruit two specialist cyber crime investigation officers on a fixed term, full-time contract until 31/03/2020 initially.

The Force has a Cyber Hub made up the Internet Child Abuse Investigation Unit, Digital forensics Unit and the Digital Media Investigation Team (DMIT) co-located at Bedfordshire Police Headquarters in Kempston, Bedford. Working as part of the DMIT you will form part of an enhanced specialist team investigating cyber-dependent crime and other associated cyber-crimes.

The ideal candidate will hold a PIP level 2 qualification or have relevant experience in criminal investigations and will have:
• A good understanding of the different types Cybercrime such as malware, phishing, identity-theft, hacking, on-line scams and how these can be used to commit crimes against individuals, the state and businesses.
• A good technical understanding of Internet technology and End User Computing devices/software such as PC,s, Laptops, storage devices, Smartphones, Tablets, Windows, Apple Platforms, Android etc.
• Completed, or ability to complete, enhanced Cyber Crime Training, including training related to the forensic analysis of digital devices.

In addition, candidates will ideally have:
• Experience of conducting interviews and taking statements in investigation processes.
• Experience of conducting interviews with suspects.
• Experience of preparing and upgrading files for court.
• Experience of presenting evidence at court
• The ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
• Experience in investigating Fraud, and other financial crime.
• Ability to effectively manage exhibits.

The normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm but some flexibility will be required to suit the needs of the team.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance
