****We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join the team at Bedfordshire Police.

Communications Officers play a crucial role in helping Bedfordshire Police protect people and fight crime.

You will deal with a range of communications activities including handling media enquiries, writing communication strategies, editing video, graphic design and publishing across a variety of internal and external platforms including websites and social media.

The role is also responsible for dedicated portfolio areas – such as serious organised crime, youth violence, domestic abuse and counter terrorism. Communications Officers support each unit or department’s objectives by creating bespoke integrated communications campaigns to reach a variety of audiences with important messages.
The force has unique challenges and is often in the national spotlight, so this role would be a perfect opportunity for a communications professional looking to progress their career in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills, experience of working under pressure and as part of a team with the confidence to persuade and influence officers at all levels.

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of communications professionals. We also believe in developing and nurturing our talent, so training and on-going professional development is a key part of our approach.

Must be able to take part in 24/7 rota and occasional evening and weekend work.
