An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Insight Analyst to join the Strategy and Demand Team within the Strategic Services Improvement Department in Bedfordshire Police. The Strategy and Demand Team has responsibility for strategic planning, strategic analytical products, the understanding and management of demand, and data insight and visualisation. 

Key to supporting the Force achieve its strategic objectives, the role will lead on the delivery of data visualisation and the provision of technical data extracts supporting a wide range of internal and external customers. The role will provide analytical and technical insight to support effective decision making and drive continuous improvement in performance. 

Applicants must be capable of using a range of analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, Mapping Tools, R Software, SPSS and I-Base, and be able to use complex data extract tools such as SQL and SSRS. Candidates will be able to deliver complex data and statistical analysis explaining rationale clearly and accurately and where necessary presenting findings and recommendations. Applicants should have a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and confidence across a range of stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organisation. 

Reporting to the Force Data Insight Manager, the post is 37 hours per week within the force’s flexitime scheme Monday to Friday. The post is based at home but the post holder will be expected to attend meetings or training within Bedfordshire, the region and other forces across the UK, and will be available to receive calls out of hours from senior colleagues. 

It is envisaged that short-listing will take place w/c 19th April 2021 and interviews w/c 26th April 2021.
