There are three Records Management Centres (RMC) within the collaborated BCH Information Management structure and one of those is at Letchworth. The RMCs are busy archive stores where the emphasis is on ensuring a variety of police records are stored and reviewed in accordance with National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) guidance, the Management of Police Information requirements and legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.

As a Records Management Practitioner you will work as part of an already committed and enthusiastic team to deliver a first-class service to our internal and external customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and scrutiny in recording and reviewing retained records.

The successful candidate should have previous experience of working within an administration-based environment, know how to use Windows-based software and have the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative. Previous use of Police systems such as BORIS, PLX, PNC, FedSearch, Athena and Transearch is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

The position is a full-time post, Monday to Friday with core hours being 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. There is potentially some flexibility in the hours and applications are welcomed from individuals seeking to work less days as long as the days worked cover the core hours, and the remaining days can be successfully recruited to. The post is based at RMC, Letchworth but as part of a BCH team there may be a requirement to occasionally work from the other RMCs at Monks Wood (near Huntingdon) and Luton (in which case travelling costs would be reimbursed) so an ability to travel to alternative locations is needed. Core opening hours for the unit are 08:00a.m. to 04:00p.m. Monday to Friday. The RMC at Letchworth incudes a warehouse section on multiple levels with stairs and mobile elevated platform equipment (training provided) to access materials stored at height.

For an informal chat about the post, please contact Emma Dady by email; emma.dady@herts.pnn.police.uk or phone; 07590452867.
