Bedfordshire Police are currently seeking applications from the rank of Detective Constable and Detective Sergeants only, to join our Force.

How would you feel being part of a force with a clear sense of purpose?

You could spend less time commuting and more time doing the things you like by working closer to home.

In a compact force, it means you will be an individual again, not just a number.

This is an extremely exciting time to join as we strive for excellence in exceeding our key strategic aims. Bedfordshire Police have committed people across the organisation, proud to deliver a first-class service to our communities.

Bedfordshire is one of the fastest growing counties in the region, which means a wide range of career opportunities, specialist posts and prospects are available to transferees and re-joiners.

If you are interested in applying as either a re-joiner or from a non-Home Office Force, you will be required to complete the attached skills audit form and submit this to bchcareers@herts.pnn.police.uk where you are also able to submit any questions about the process. Please quote the vacancy title in your email title.

All internal/external applicants must have successfully completed their probationary period in order to apply for this role.

All applicants must print off a copy of the BCH application approval form and pass this onto their line manager and head of department for sign-off. As this is a PDF document this will need to be wet signed, though we will accept an audit trail of emails from your line manager and head of department if this is not achievable.

The completed approval form needs to be returned to the BCHCareers@herts.pnn.police.uk before the closing date. Application forms will not be progressed to the shortlisting stage unless the recruitment team has received a completed approval form. If, due to exceptional circumstances, you are unable to do so please inform the HR Service Centre at BCHCareers@herts.pnn.police.uk; this will need to be authorised by senior management.

This force is a Disability Confident employer. Should you require any reasonable adjustments for your application process, please contact the HR Service Centre on 01438 75(7777) or the management contact for this role directly. We also offer the guaranteed interview scheme; this means that all candidates with a disability covered by the Equality Act 2010, who meet the minimum entry requirements for the role, will be invited to attend an interview.

Please contact DI Martin Eaton if you have any question in regards to the role.
