The role of the ERSOU CTP Business Assurance team is to drive adherence to policies and standards, improve performance and monitor the status of compliance across the region and the Counter Terrorism Policing Network.

Whilst you will specialise in Business Assurance, a broad knowledge of Information Security and risks is desirable to gain a more rounded understanding of the assurance functions and their inter-dependencies.

You will be responsible for providing Business Assurance for counter terrorism and domestic extremism governance bodies, that policies and procedures are adhered to. You will support the ERSOU region and other regions across the Counter Terrorism Policing Network to establish local mechanisms to continually monitor and maintain compliance. This will involve IT related monitoring and audits, and the ability to collate, interpret and evaluate information to produce detailed reports in a clear format. You will produce high level reports for senior management on business assurance activity and findings and provide recommendations for areas which require development.

The role will involve national travel facilitating independent inspections and reviews across the Counter Terrorism Policing Network to support compliance with policies, processes and procedures. You will support continual improvement including promoting best practice across the Counter Terrorism Policing Network.

You will provide business-driven advice on managing security and information risk, consistent with Counter Terrorism Policing and UK Government Information Assurance policy. Through participating in local and national workshops/forums, you will represent the necessary assurance functions. Engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders to promote compliance and consistency will be crucial.

Within CT Policing you will have the chance to learn new skills and be part of a dynamic team operating at the highest level of national responsibilities with opportunities for professional development.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Development Vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

This post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals.
