Applications are sought from suitable candidates to join the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) Protected Persons Unit (PPU). As part of the United Kingdom Protected Persons Service (UKPPS), ERSOU PPU conduct the covert relocation of Protected Persons and provide support, assistance and guidance to individuals undergoing the relocation and resettlement process.
Successful applicants will join a highly motivated team that protects some of the most at risk individuals in the Region.
Potential applicants should be aware that The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) has approved the recommendation of establishing a national service with a structure to be in place by April 2019. The national service is to be centrally managed by the NCA whilst continuing to be regionally delivered. UKPPS PPU officers and staff will be given the option to transfer on a secondment basis or become directly employed by the NCA.
Successful applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
Bedfordshire is the lead force for ERSOU so the successful candidate will be employed by Bedfordshire Police.
