THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an ERSOU Communications Lead.

The unit comprises officers and staff from across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent and is dedicated to tackling serious organised crime and terrorist activity.

This is a hugely important area of policing and would require a quick learner with a good knowledge of policing and experience in internal and external communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

From planning awareness campaigns to keep people safe from a terrorist attack, to highlighting operations which dismantled organised crime networks in the region, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of varied and interesting communications activity. They will also be an an active member of the unit's Senior Leadership Team and help shape the culture of the organisation.

WORK LOCATION

Working agilely, the role will involve travelling across the region, building relationships with each of the seven forces’ communications teams, a range of stakeholders and local media. The post holder will also be part of the national counter terrorism and regional crime units' communications networks, coordinating national messaging into local communities.

VETTING

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria), Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) and Development Vetting before taking up the post. This will involve vetting checks on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial enquiries. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.
