An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a police staff post within the ERSOU counter terrorism command training and development team at a discrete location in Hertfordshire.

ERSOU CTP consists of both police staff and officers and exists primarily to gather and develop intelligence to help protect the public from national security threats, especially terrorism and other extremist activity.

The training and development unit have responsibility for the delivery and coordination of training for officers and staff within the command. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of training in accordance with the national counter terrorism training programme strategy. They will additionally support organisational learning and improvement through exercise debriefing processes and table top exercises.

During the interview the interviewee will be required to deliver a short presentation to the panel. The topic will be advertised prior to the interview date.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development Vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

Anyone holding dual nationality can make an application but may be required to relinquish non-British nationality if successful (and any entitlement you may have to a foreign nationality) as a condition of your confirmation of appointment with CTP. If you’re already married to, or cohabiting with, a person who isn’t a British citizen, you may still be eligible for employment at the discretion of the department. You should note however, that marriage to, or cohabitation with, a person who isn’t a British citizen after appointment may, in some circumstances, result in the withdrawal of security clearance and subsequent transfer to another department, or (if this is not possible or the officer does not wish to transfer) dismissal. Each case will be considered on its merits, taking into account the ties between the person involved and the United Kingdom.
