This vacancy is for an initial period of 9 months to cover maternity leave, expected to finish in March 2020.

The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner requires maternity cover for our Public Information Officer and are offering a Career Development Opportunity to staff.

This exciting post provides media releases for all the events and projects the Police and Crime Commissioner attends or funds. This proactive role will ensure key, timely and accurate messages are released through appropriate media channels.

The media releases will show the work of the PCC and her team to our various communities, partner agencies and internal police partners. The ideal applicant will have had a customer service background and understand the purpose of creative media releases. Previous experience working in a media outlet would be an advantage.

The applicant must be able to work under pressure, as the media releases can be prepared and sent ‘live’ from an event.

Knowledge of inputting across a wide range of social media platforms is essential.

Please note occasional evening and weekend work may be required within this CDO period.
