Applications are invited from individuals to join the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Tasking and Intelligence unit which is based at Stevenage Police Station, Hertfordshire. This a Bedfordshire post therefore the successful candidate would be expected to resigned from their home force and transfer to either Bedfordshire or Cambridgeshire.

The tasking unit is responsible for providing intelligence products to BCH departments, namely Roads Policing, Armed policing unit, and dog unit.
Working to the national intelligence model all analytical and intelligence products are completed to provide clear and accurate briefing products for the officers.

The department works Monday to Friday 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs.

We welcome applications from officers who would like to work flexibly, for example job share applications would be considered.

The tasking unit provides a vital service across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire as part of the JPS Strategic Alliance and supports the policing of a mix of rural and urban environments that comprise Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. With a combined population of over 2.5 million people, it is a particularly diverse and challenging environment where the intelligence evolves fast time but is crucial to the reduction of crime and keeping people safe.

The successful candidate will develop skills in a vital areas of intelligence led policing and the various intelligence tools to appropriately task resources.

Applicants are required to have one year’s previous experience in an information development environment.
