As a result of an internal promotion a vacancy has arisen within the BCH ICT Networks team based at the Cambridgeshire HQ in Huntingdon for a full-time permanent position for the role of ICT Networks Engineer.

This is an exciting role where you'll be expected to apply your experience in networking technology to configure, maintain and support data center environments (DC), local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and wireless networks (Wifi).

You'll be part of a team that also supports back office functions such as MS Exchange, MS Skype and the transition into cloud-based services such as MS O365 and MS Azure.

Through daily monitoring and management of the BCH Network Infrastructure you'll be expected deliver high levels of service availability and performance, proactively resolve any faults or failures identified through automated or manual monitoring and ensure any procedures or corrective actions are documented.

As part of a team of network engineers you'll provide support and technical advice on networking infrastructure hardware and software issues raised via the ICT Service Desk to include the repair, installation and relocation of network hardware and associated software services. Review all incidents and service requests from users to seek resolution in a timely and professional manner and ensure tasks are prioritised in line with departmental requirements.

You'll provide subject matter expertise (SME) in the area of data networking to support the analysis, configuration, build and delivery of a wide range of solutions both within the ICT department and the wider business environment.

You must also be an excellent team player, organised and highly motivated, ready to work outside of normal business hours, you'll understand the importance of flexibility and close collaboration.

You'll be expected to maintain an in-depth level of up to date IT industry and technical awareness specifically in the data networking field. Through assessment and analysis undertake investigations into new technologies and evaluate their appropriateness.

Please Note a full Driving License is essential, along with the ability to pass appropriate vetting requirements.
