Help give terrorists nowhere to hide – ERSOU - Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) fights terrorism at every level and the work we do helps to keep our communities safe.

Working within counter terrorism is an exciting and challenging role which provides excellent development opportunities within a busy and fast-moving environment. The threat level from terrorism is at Severe and this role is critical to the delivery of CTP change activity to ensure that the command is best placed to mitigate the threat from terrorism.
This is your chance to rise to a new and exciting challenge while gaining invaluable experience in a specialist area of policing.

The CTP Project and Continuous Improvement Analyst, working with the Change Manager and the National CT Change Portfolio, will manage regional ‘business delivered’ change – the work required to deliver change to capabilities at a regional level which can be entirely managed by resources located within the CTP unit.

The key Duties and Responsibilities of the role are:

• Manage discrete projects or project work packages as assigned and overseen by the Regional Change Manager.
• Support the Regional Change Manager to ensure project management adheres to Portfolio standards, as directed by the Portfolio Office.
• Support the Regional Change Manager in facilitating and coordinating workshops to assist in the development of project management products.
• Support to the Regional Change Manager to create and maintain consistently high quality, accurate and relevant programme and project level governance products (e.g. project plans, risks and issues register, benefits tracking, change readiness assessments).
• Support the Regional Change Manager to complete reports.
• Support to the Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager to establish and manage regular reporting cycles, ensuring highlight reports are submitted as required to national project teams / Portfolio Management Office in accordance with reporting timelines.

Successful applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo MV and SC, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

This post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals. If you hold dual nationality, one component of which is British, you may also be considered. However, if successful, you may be asked to relinquish your non‐British nationality (and any entitlement you may have to a foreign nationality) as a condition of your confirmation of appointment with the CTP Command. One of your parents should also be British or have substantial ties to the UK. In the latter instance; substantial ties means that your parent is a citizen of a British Overseas Territory, a Commonwealth citizen, US citizen, EEA citizen, British national or citizen overseas, and they would need to have demonstrable connections with the UK by way of family history or have been resident here for a substantial period of time.

If you’re already married to, or cohabiting with, a person who isn’t a British citizen, you may still be eligible for employment at the discretion of the department. You should note however, that marriage to, or cohabitation with, a person who isn’t a British citizen after appointment may, in some circumstances, result in the withdrawal of security clearance and subsequent transfer to another department, or (if this is not possible or the officer does not wish to transfer) dismissal. Each case will be considered on its merits, taking into account the ties between the person involved and the United Kingdom.
