Our Emerald unit unites the investigation of domestic and serious sexual offences – crimes that account for more than one in every 10 recorded by Bedfordshire Police.

We are increasing and bringing together specialist resources to enhance our victim focused dedicated response. Our ultimate ambition is to create a centre of excellence with the right skills to improve the way we tackle these highly distressing crimes and the on-going victim care.

Emerald Engagement and referral Officers will be responsible for working alongside investigation officers to identify services and agencies who can support victims through both the criminal justice journey and their personal recovery from crime. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with partners to reduce vulnerability and repeat victimisation.

Key skills include;
Understanding of Domestic abuse and the support pathways, working with other agencies, experience of excellent victim care, safeguarding and development of supportive action plans.
