The Professional Standards Department is a collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Unit which is committed to improving public confidence and quality of service together with protecting and enhancing the integrity of all three forces by preventing and detecting unethical behaviour, conducting timely and robust public complaint investigations, identifying lessons learned through investigation, educating, promoting and supporting good practice.  

This team of 7 is the initial contact point for the department and requires previous experience in a customer service environment.  The team is responsible for providing administration support to the department and ensuring all data recording is maintained in line with Constabularies and National data practices and policies.  This role requires customer service experience, attention to detail, and an organised approach to work.  

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is able to undertake Administrative work in a challenging, customer focused environment.

As an Administrative Assistant, you must be able to evidence:

  • 1 or more years in a customer service arena
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications
  • A strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexible, able to multitask and work under pressure 

This role is based at Biggleswade Police Station.

The post is a permanent post and the hours are 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (Core office hours – 09:00 to 17:00).
