An opportunity has arisen in the BCH Digital Projects’ Team for a Project Manager (PM). The team manages large national and regional digital transformation projects on behalf of BCH, including ESMCP (Emergency Services Mobile Communication Platform) Airwave Replacement, SOH (Single On-line Home), NLEDS (National Law Enforcement Database System) PNC Replacement and DAMS (Digital Asset Management System). 

The PM will report to the Supt / Staff Equivalent strategic leads (project owners) managing projects based on priority implementation timelines. 

The project teams sit within the BCH Delivery Management Office (DMO) which manages BCH collaboration change, reporting directly into BCH senior officers. The team work in an agile way, with a requirement to travel to attend meetings across the tri-force area and regionally as needed. 

The successful applicant will preferably have experience managing large digital projects at tri-force level, experience working with BCH ICT, external suppliers, regional Procurement and regional / national stakeholders. 

Additionally, the applicant will be expected to work as part of the wider BCH Digital Projects’ team and will have line manager responsibility for police officers and police staff. 

Entry Requirements: 

  • Experience in digital related projects
  • Essential to have Programme and Project management experience and recent training in Programme/Project Management. (MSP Qualification and/or PRINCE 2 or Agile Project Management, with Change Management Foundation Level preferred)
  • Previous management experience.
  • Strong analytical and engagement skills.
  • Proven experience of designing, developing and delivering change.
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement / developing stakeholder plans at tri-force level
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and present at the senior / executive level.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills at all levels including external organisations.
  • Experience of delivering change in conjunction with external suppliers.
  • Experience in business process mapping and designing new business processes, policies and training materials
  • Experience of benefits /performance profiling
  • Sound project/programme management experience: risk management; benefits realisation; developing stakeholder plans, project plan management
