The Rural Crime Team is a county wide team consisting of 5 officers and a PCSO based at Dunstable.

Shifts are earlies and lates, no nights although operational flexibility is required. 

The Rural Crime Team holds the thematic leads for all Wildlife crime, Heritage crime and environmental crime such as fly tipping. 

All officers are trained as National Police Wildlife crime investigators. 

Rural Crime Team officers work closely with partner organisations supporting rural communities, farmers and animal welfare groups. There is a substantial amount of high visibility patrol work required to give reassurance to the most rural parts of the county. Officers will be need to be self-motivated and will be expected to stop and deal positively with persons poaching, and committing rural offences and yes you will get muddy. 

As a Rural Crime Team officer, you will build trust in the Police and offer reassurance by being visible and accessible in the rural areas of the County. 

Applicants will need a minimum of non-response driving ticket. 

There is a minimum tenure of 2 years with the team due to the level of training required.

This will ideally be wet signed though we will accept an audit trail of emails from your Line Manager or Head of Department if this is not achievable.
