Assessors are sought for the dyslexia assessor programme which was launched across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire in March 2021.

The programme is designed to help colleagues determine if they have dyslexia symptoms through the completion of an assessment using specialist screening software. National statistics indicate that approximately 20 percent of the UK’s population has some indication of dyslexia with many not having received formal diagnosis or support.

Assessors will play a pivotal role in the programme, working one-to-one with colleagues to evaluate their results and to help implement any reasonable adjustments that are identified.

The programme seeks to support staff through two defined pathways. Firstly, all new staff joining the organisation are offered the opportunity to undertake an assessment, the second pathway sees existing staff members offered the opportunity to self-refer to the programme for support.

Becoming an assessor is a unique and exciting opportunity that will help colleagues to maximise their potential. Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive five-day training course to equip them with the skills they need. The assessor training course is scheduled to start on 29 November 2021.

Expressions of interest in the assessor role are invited from across the three forces from individuals in any roles. (Max 500 Words)

It is anticipated that assessors will need to dedicate approximately two working days every three months to the role. It is therefore vital that any expression of interest is supported by an appropriate line manager.

The deadline for applications is 04th October 2021.
