A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Eastern Regional Special Operations Unit’s (ERSOU) as a Digital Forensic Examiner within the Regional Cyber Crime Unit

The Regional Cyber Crime Unit conduct proactive and reactive investigations relating to serious and complex cybercrime cases within our region. This includes both cyber enabled and cyber dependent crime types with significant regional and national impact. As a Digital Forensic Examiners, you will be key to these investigations, helping to critically analyse data from a range of digital sources and devices. 

The Regional Cyber Crime Unit operate to ISO17025 standards and our team of experts work closely with our Detectives to identify, analyse and present evidence. As part of their role our Digital Forensic Examiners will often attend crime scenes and warrants across the region and on occasion nationally. 

This is a permanent role based in Hertfordshire office. As Bedfordshire Police are the lead Force for ERSOU the successful applicant would be employed by Bedfordshire Police on grade SO1 to PO2 (please refer to pay scale tier within the attached role profile). Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Ideally applicants will be experienced in digital forensic investigators and with computer technologies, applications from staff with basic experience are also welcome, however depending on the level of interest trained and experienced staff would take precedence at paper sift. 

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo management vetting and security clearance or development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

As this is a PDF document this should, if possible, be wet signed. We will accept an audit trail of emails from your line manager and Head of Department if a wet signature is not achievable. 

The completed approval form needs to be returned to hr.ersou@ersou.pnn.police.uk as close to the closing date as possible.  Application forms will not be progressed to the shortlisting stage until the recruitment team has received a completed approval form.
