The Information Management Department (IMD) is a collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Unit. Information Management are looking to recruit an additional Manager to lead and direct a small specialist Data Protection Governance team within the IMD unit. In addition, the post holder will act as an independent Data Protection Officer for our partners in the 3 BCH Offices of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS).

A vacancy has arisen within the employment of Hertfordshire Constabulary. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the role within the bounds of the key responsibilities.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and management skills, and as Data Protection Officer (DPO) to the BCH OPCCs and Beds Fire and Rescue Service you will need to have an in-depth knowledge of Data Protection legislation and the applicant must hold a certificate (ISEB or equivalent) in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) / Data Protection.

Leading the Information Governance workstream you will need to be experienced in the application of both GDPR / Data Protection and understand project management skills. In addition, applicants should have experience and a good working knowledge of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Data Sharing agreements and the Information Asset Owner process.

The post will be based at Bedford Borough Hall in Bedford with the expectation of travel across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, as well as to National and Regional meetings on behalf of BCH.

The post is permanent and the hours are core office hours of 0900 – 1700 Monday to Friday.
