An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the Eastern Region Sensitive Intelligence Unit (ERSOU) which supports seven forces – Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Within the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit is the Sensitive Intelligence Unit, which is a specialist unit working with sensitive intelligence to support proactive covert operations. The Sensitive Intelligence Unit at the heart of driving the Eastern Region Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) in delivering specialist covert policing capabilities, tackling the threat of those police forces that form part of the Eastern Region and identifying Organised Crime Groups to be enforced upon.

We are seeking experienced and skilled analysts who are looking for new and exciting experiences as part of a fast-paced team. This presents a great opportunity to broaden existing skills, work in covert policing and to operate at the forefront of advancements in intelligence work. Ideally you will use your existing skills, in particular around communications data analysis, to interpret a range of covertly collected data and to make recommendations to the operational teams.

There is a requirement to work a shift pattern that covers working one weekend in eight along with being on call for that same period, plus an additional 4 weekdays on call.

You will be based in Hertfordshire, however may be required to travel across the region when required.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You will be expected to provide written evidence around the competencies (listed below) and minimum entry requirements from the role profile (maximum 500 words each).
