About the job

  • Chairing the HCPB at 4 meetings a year (and potential additional meetings).
  • Scrutinise papers and ask questions of our stakeholders to achieve the best public confidence outcomes for the public/communities of Hertfordshire.
  • Support the setting of the agenda and signing off the minutes of the meeting.
  • Ensure agreed actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Leverage resources.

About you

  • Influencing skills are essential, alongside credibility with organisations and communities.
  • Previous chairing skills would be desired.
  • Evidence of a good knowledge base around hate crime legislation and continuing to be aware of emerging trends and impacts.
  • Evidence of strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to take a holistic view to inform oversight and strategic direction of the work.
  • Understanding stakeholder interests and enabling consensus to be reached to ensure delivery of work.

What we can offer you

  • An opportunity to engage and influence discussions around the work that takes place to address hate crime.
  • Expenses will be paid.
