Are you interested in a varied and challenging role contributing to making Cambridgeshire a safer place? Do you want to broaden your experience within the criminal justice system, policing or community safety context?  Do you have the skills, experience and enthusiasm to ensure the provision of proactive and professional strategic policy support contributing to the Police and Crime Commissioner’s effectiveness and transparency and enabling them to fulfil their statutory responsibilities across key policy, performance, governance, risk and compliance areas.

An exciting vacancy has now arisen for a post in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough supporting the delivery of the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan and their statutory responsibilities.  Your focus will be on supporting policy development, review and performance and governance monitoring.  This will include overseeing effective decision–making processes.  You will liaise effectively with other members of the team and key partners to ensure the organisation’s robust, pragmatic and proportionate management of complaints, correspondence and issues handling, and meet organisation’s responsibilities for appeals and hearings.  You will be required to  the effective and efficient management of formal complaints, correspondence or issues handling, managing workflow, and reporting progress in line with sensitivity,  integrity and respect.  The nature of the role and the size of the small but supportive team means you will need to be comfortable balancing competing priorities.

The team is working agilely but will eventually be back at Police Headquarters in Huntingdon. We are happy to consider a regular remote working arrangement in discussion with the candidate. The post holder must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere, for meetings to meet business need.

The role is full time (37 hours).  Flexible working arrangements will be considered.
