Where possible we will also consider flexible working requests.

ERSOU are introducing a new team to the department - the Organised Crime Team. The team will lead pro-active and reactive investigations into high harm SOC and OCG threats across the Region, including working with partner organisations to achieve disruptions (incorporating the Regional Disruption Team)

The unit will consist of a DI, 2 x DS and a number of PC's, TI's and DC's. This is an opportunity for a pro-active, flexible and experienced Detective Sergeant to join the team to lead a tactical and investigation team alongside an established Sergeant. The unit will undertake a wide variety of functions including non-surveillance enabled pro-active work, intensification activity and working with all others areas of the ROCU to utilise their functions and investigative capabilities in order to undertake complex investigations

The successful applicant will be expected to be PIP 2 accredited and maintain CPD

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

ERSOU supports the principles of agile working, and encourages Staff from any force or location to apply for positions, regardless of where the main base for the particular team is. Whilst some functions will need to be delivered at designated / appropriate sites on specific occasions, many functions can be undertaken remotely, either at ERSOU, local Police Force building or from home.

Your designated place of work can be negotiated. This will be considered as part of the recruitment process to ensure options are workable and also can be discussed in advance with the contact point named in this advert
