ERSOU is the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, that oversees and delivers a regional level response to Serious and Organised Crime, and Counter Terrorism Policing for the Forces in the Eastern Region. ERSOU is made up of both Officers and Police Staff from across the entire region, and works closely with the 7 Forces and National Partners. The departments are unique, in that they are able to offer opportunities to work and develop individuals professionally in specialist areas, often delivering capabilities that are provided by local forces.

These roles are in the ROCU which provides specialist capabilities to tackle the increasingly complex threat posed by organised crime, which ranges from child sexual exploitation, modern slavery, county drugs lines, cybercrime and economic crime – and we’re currently looking for people to join us.

By joining one of the teams in our ROCU or Counter Terrorism Policing Team (Prisons), you’ll be able to develop your skills in a niche and exciting area, while helping to identify and disrupt organised criminals operating across the eastern region.

There are two exciting opportunities to be part of our Team and work in partnership with many specialist partner agencies, HMPPS Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) and the Joint Extremists Unit (JEXU) Multi Agency Response Serious Organised Crime (MARSOC) HMPPS Counter Corruption (CC) in order to identify opportunities to disrupt the Highest Harm Offenders throughout the Prison estate.

We will support detectives in maintaining their accreditation and support constables in becoming IPP accredited. If you would like to broaden your horizons, develop your skills or simply need a new challenge and you would like to join us. Get in touch, chat it through and give it some thought.

The opportunity for Agile working exists in these roles and can be discussed with the unit manager
