Applications are invited for this police staff role to work in an On-Line investigation Team using innovative tactics to protect and safeguard children from abuse.

Your role as a Research and Development Officer will be to work within the department conducting enquiries to identify individuals posing a threat and risk to children. It will include researching the internet and other systems and building intelligence and evidence of the highest quality to support these investigations.

You will also be responsible for the dissemination of intelligence based packages both within and external to the UK.

You will be part of a dedicated flexible team, committed to the protection of children for sexual abuse across the Eastern Region.

Previous Experience in research, particularly involving open source enquiries is desirable although not essential. Due to the extensive work you will be required to do on computer based systems, knowledge and experience in this area will also be desirable.

This position will be based in Kent.

Applicants must undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance or Development Vetting, if applicable before taking up the post. This vetting will include security vetting of successful candidates family and others that live at their home address and inclusive of financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, should vetting be declined, feedback as to the reason cannot be given.
